Summary:
The authors have analysed xMOOCs offered by three leading MOOC provider i.e. Coursera, edX and Udacity. Two courses each of these providers were studied by using Quality Matters quality control framework. This framework included eight general standards which were course overview & introduction, Learning objectives, assessment & measurement, instructional material, learner interaction and engagement, course technology, learner support and accessibility.
Implications
Main implications of this research were:
1. None of the OERs available are inherently good or bad in itself. How it is being used by the teachers and the learners makes it good or bad.
2. Different OERs are designed for different types of teaching and learning experience. Keeping this in mind the teachers need to design the learning experience for the students.
